We’re in uncharted waters with this one. No remixes! Well, at least there’s an M83 cover, so we’re not totally changing the game here.
With the clocks springing forward an hour and the tree buds poking their heads out, open the windows for this one and prepare for mass quantities of hanging out.
1. All Eyes On You / St. Lucia
2. Anna Sun / Walk the Moon
3. Cinema (ft. Gary Go) / Benny Benassi
4. Midnight City (ft. Mandy Lee)(M83 cover) / The Knocks
I had no idea The Format had started a new band (fun.). Definitely a positive indicator for the economy. With music that upbeat, there’s no doubt they’re job creators.
This mix was a battle. A primordial soup waiting for a catalyst, and all it took was Tycho playing a song without words in Vegas and a Berman diamond in the rough to set it off and then it all fell in place.
I know it’s not even spring yet, but all I know is the next one is going to be 100% pure summer-picnic-beach-chill-untucked relaxation.
1. Million Voices / Otto Knows
2. Doses and Mimosas / Cherub
3. That Disco Beat (ft. Little Boots) / Baron Von Luxxury
This was at the tail end of a NYT article this morning:
“Eventually though, Earth’s luck will run out. As the Sun ages it will get brighter, increasing the weathering and washing away of carbon dioxide. At the same time, as the interior of the Earth cools, volcanic activity will gradually subside, cutting off the replenishing of the greenhouse gas.
A billion years from now there will not be enough carbon dioxide left to support photosynthesis, that is to say, the oxygen we breathe. And so much for us. Even Earth, wonderful and special as it is, will only have animal life for one billion years.”
So not only will you die someday and be buried in the ground, but also the Sun will eventually expand and turn the planet you’re buried on into a molten ball of rock.
Here’s a 6er to tide you over for the weekend. And I don’t mean the Corona on a sandy beach type. More like the stout in a cold, dark cave for eternity type (err…24 minutes).
This one’s put together by scattershot. The songs that didn’t quite make the cut for the last mix kept on getting better the more I listened, and I could not not send it out. Here’s to second chances.

This is a big one. 21 songs. Starts with some pop & rock (1-6), goes electronic/remixey (7-9), back to some quick pop & rock (10-11), does some serious electronic for a while (12-17), and then finishes with a schizophrenic episode of candy pop to R&B to atmosphere rock to a 1:39 audio rip from the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer.

Do it (1-5), hang it (6-12), slow it (13-16). I dedicate this mix to UVA’s epic collapse this week. Words do not exist to describe the nuclear fission that occurred on a Greensboro basketball court.
Mental notes:
·The Wye Oak song is killing me softly. And I always think my kettle is whistling at 2:34.
·The Young Galaxy album cover cracks me up and then quickly makes me feel uncomfortable.
·Kudos to The Game for incorporating “Zombie Nation” into a rap song.
It’s been too cold too long to think of anything interesting to say, and it’s been a while since I’ve sent one of these mixes out – so I’ll cut to the chase.1-6 are party, 7-15 are hang out, 16-24 are chill out.
I dedicate this mix to the good people of Egypt.I think Matt Damon should be their next ruler.Don’t ask why. They wouldn’t.
1. Tha Vill – More Than Friends (ft. Kele Le Roc)
